As part of its growth strategy, Bladefence Oy is moving its warehouse facilities to Vaasa, Finland. The move allows the company to better serve its customers by being closer to their wind farms, and at the same time, provide more storage space for the growing fleet of suspended platforms, equipment and materials.
The decision for relocation has been based on company’s growth, economics and safety. As the blade maintenance projects have grown in number and size, it is crucial to be located near the project sites. This allows Bladefence to better serve the customers and provide a quicker response to their requests. As the company has acquired several new suspended platforms, more space is required for their storage and maintenance. Furthermore, the company wants to cut the distance for driving the service vans and platforms. This is foremost a safety measure but will also underline the company’s purpose in green energy value chain by reducing fuel consumption. The move will also have an economic impact as the facilities will be positioned closer to the customers’ sites, reducing mobilization costs in many cases.
By having a service base in Vaasa, Bladefence will be in the middle of growing wind region, near the customers’ wind farms in Finland and Sweden.
The new facilities will be fully operational from the 1st of May 2023. The company’s office premises will remain in Vantaa, Finland.
