Time to Hire: Brief History on Windmills and Wind Turbines

Do you want to be part of history and help future generations?

Do you want to be part of history and help future generations? Without wind Columbus would not have sailed across the Ocean to discover North America. For centuries wind power was used to grind grain, pump water for irrigation, and the first wind turbine was used in 1887 to produce electricity by Professor James Blyth in Scotland. The future of wind power has returned and will continue to flourish because of mankind’s desire to produce more sustainable renewable energy sources and decrease our carbon emissions.

Bladefence North America continues to increase our footprint as a major player in the composite wind repair and maintenance markets. Our plan for 2023 includes doubling the size of our workforce, investing in new equipment, and structuring a training program that will provide a clear career path that will help you in your learning and development.

Wind power is expected to provide 31 % of our energy by 2050 and the onshore growth of wind farms continues to take place in the United States. There are major wind projects underway in New York, on the East Coast, and other sites across the United States (Mordor Intelligence, 2021-2026).

Our teams are in the field traveling throughout the United States from March through the end of December. Living and working in some of the most beautiful places in the United States. In addition to a competitive hourly wage while in the field our team members are paid a per diem to pay for lodging and meals.

What motivates you to wake up every morning and go to work? Being paid well is one part of your value but knowing that the work you are performing, and learning brings value to the world. Just like the humans that sailed across the ocean with Columbus you are an explorer that will share your experiences with friends, family, and stories will be written about you.

Wind farms are spread across the world and the United States is a new frontier. If you want to see new places, meet new friends, and work 6-8 weeks on and 1 week off we are hiring new team members with composite repair experience and CDL drivers to operate our truck “Bronto” and learn to run the bucket. You will experience working at heights extended 300 feet above the ground with teammates working from a Bronto. We operate state-of-the-art machinery that you will learn to operate and if you are interested in learning blade repair, we will train you.

During the off-season you will learn new technical skills to advance as a Blade Technician. During the season we share information among the different teams to learn and discuss best practices, tools, resins, composite material, and safety. We want you to advance and be recognized as an expert, train new team members, and take on new responsibilities. “Good timber does not grow with ease; the stronger the wind, the stronger the trees.” J. Willard Marriott

What makes you a good fit is working as a team, making sure you and your team members are safe, active thinkers, strong work ethic, and quality is part of your work DNA. We will be starting the interview process and you can send your resume to the USA email: recruitment.usa@bladefence.com and Canadian email: recruitment.canada@bladefence.com. Training will take place beginning around mid-March of 2023 in Mansfield, Texas for 2-weeks for US and CA teams. We are looking for CDL drivers and Composite Wind Blade Technicians.
